2026-27 Staff

Coach Blase has coached hockey for more than 18 seasons and has been around hockey for over 45 years. He brings a wealth of experience at the Junior, College, and Tier 1 level. A 2006 graduate of Lindenwood University, he was part of a perennial ACHA D1 powerhouse program as both a player and a coach. Following his time at Lindewood, he served as Head Coach of the Hampton Roads Whalers (EJHL), Assistant Coach for the Tri-City Storm (USHL), Associate Head Coach of the Brookings Blizzard, and coached the Omaha AAA Hockey program. His teams in Omaha made several USA Hockey National Tournament appearances and were National semi-finalists twice. Erik has assisted in the development of over 80 players who earned NCAA Division 1 scholarships and 7 NHL draft picks or free agent signings. He is excited to continue to build on the momentum that the Drake Hockey Club has going!
